Tiles
that Bind Project on 21July 2006
The
project was a collaboration with Singapore Management University,
Northwest Community Development Council, National Library board
(Northern region libraries) and N7 cluster primary schools viz:
Canberra Primary, woodlands Primary, Woodgrove Primary, Wellington
Primary, Si Ling Primary, Fuchun Primary, Greenwood Primary.
The
project was launched on 21st July 2005, this is in conjunction with
Racial Harmony Day. 12,000 tiles were exhibited at the Woodlands
Regional Library, Woodlands Civic Plaza. The Guest-of-Honour for
the event was Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of NW CDC. The 'Tiles that Bind'
event ended on 1st August 2005.
Tri
touch Scholarship
The
scholarship is an endorsement of the students' passion for community
services, as well as an avenue to develop students into leaders
who will have a passion for the disadvantage and under privilege.
The Tri Touch scholarship is specially designed with these aims
in mind to inculcate values in these students who will be tomorrow's
leaders.
The
World Longest Can Chain Project
The
World's Longest Can Chain Project was initiated by ECSS and together,
with Chung Cheng High (Main), students used 45,000 cans to design
a 'Heart' and CHUNG CHENG (SINGAPORE) logo. It took us 100 days
to work on this project, which was completed on 1st July 2005 We
are proud to say that this project has won us a place in the WorldĄŻs
Guinness Book Records.
Flag
day

Community Services Society (ECSS) had its first Flag Day on 9th
July 2005. The funds raised was $52,603.02. We also had our second
Flag Day on 25th Feb 2006. The fund raised was $55,911.35. Our beneficiaries
are VWO's such as like Pormised Land Community Services, Lifespring
Community Network and Students' Volunteers Corp.
